Upgrade/Update Policy



Program Files
Improvements to the program are made periodically from user suggestions, customizations and those initiated by myself. Each time this occurs, I create a new executable file named with the date of creation. I then post a notice on the user page that it is available. Upon request I send an email containing a link for downloading that file. It will have a unique name so that it does not overwrite the one already there. You can place it on your desktop or execute it from where you placed it after downloading. There is no charge for this service for as long as you own the software. This file requires certain other files placed in your system during the original or later installations. It will not work by itself.

New Installation
If you require an entire new installation due to a computer crash or other circumstances, then you will have to re-install the program. If it is within 2 years of your original purchase, I will send an email with the necessary information for a new installation at no charge. However, if it is more than 2 years after purchase, there is a $20 fee requiring a separate order. See below for ordering.


Program on CD
If you obtained the software on a CD prior to December, 2008 when a new installation method became effective, and you lost the program (not the CD), you can re-install from the CD and then receive the latest program file update at no charge.

New installations after December, 2008, should SAVE rather than run the installation file when downloading, then copy it to a CD or flash drive in case of the need to re-install in the future. You may ask for a new installation anytime during the first 2 years after purchase.

PDA Software
PalmCogo and MobileCogo will not be updated but they will be kept available for a period of time. A fee may be charged for replacement.

Earlier Versions
No updates will be made for the DOS or earlier Windows versions. Please contact me if you need another copy or want to upgrade.

Ordering
Go to this link to order. Use the 'hourly charge' item in the PayPal store to equal the amount for a new QuickCogo installation. If you want it on CD, also include that item.
